FMMM: Stop Chasing Leads. Start Converting Them.

October 12, 2026•3 min read

Most businesses don’t need more leads.

They need to get better at converting the leads they already have.

One business owner recently made a massive mindset shift:

“Follow-up isn’t bothering people. Selling is serving.”

That shift changes everything.

1. FOLLOW UP RELENTLESSLY

If someone enquires, don’t sit back and hope they return.

Phone them.

Message them.

Follow up.

Follow up again.

If you believe you can genuinely help them, following up is part of your responsibility.

No follow-up = wasted leads.

2. SPEED WINS

Every new lead should be contacted FAST.

Target: within 5 minutes.

If you’re unavailable, automate an immediate response.

Interest cools quickly.

Speed compresses the distance between:

Lead → Conversation → Opportunity → Sale

3. STOP SELLING PRICE. SELL VALUE.

When someone asks:

“How much?”

Don’t immediately fire back a number.

First understand:

  • What are they trying to achieve?

  • What problem are they facing?

  • What happens if they get it wrong?

  • What could delay, failure or mistakes cost them?

Then connect your price to the value of the outcome and the cost of getting it wrong.

Cheap can become incredibly expensive.

4. BUILD OVERWHELMING SOCIAL PROOF

Your customers will always be more believable than you.

Collect:

  • Google reviews

  • Written testimonials

  • Video success stories

  • Before-and-after stories

  • Stories showing the cost of doing nothing or making the wrong decision

Then use them EVERYWHERE:

Website. Proposals. Emails. Social media. Sales process.

Aim for one new video success story every week.

Social proof reduces fear before you even start selling.

5. EDUCATE BEFORE THE SALES CALL

Don’t make the sales call do all the work.

Before the meeting, send prospects:

1. Valuable education

2. Customer success stories

3. Evidence of your expertise

4. Examples of problems you help people avoid

By the time they speak to you, they should already understand:

Why this matters.

Why they need help.

Why they can trust you.

Marketing should make selling easier.

6. CREATE A POWERFUL LEAD MAGNET

Give website visitors something so valuable they willingly exchange their details for it.

Examples:

“7 Expensive Mistakes to Avoid When…”

“The Business Owner’s Guide to…”

“10 Things You Must Know Before…”

Give away some of your best knowledge.

You’re not losing information.

You’re gaining trust.

7. NEVER LOSE A LEAD

Every lead goes into a CRM.

Track:

Name → Source → Contact → Follow-up → Opportunity → Quote → Sale

Never rely on your memory.

Set the next follow-up before finishing the current one.

A lead should stay in your system until they:

Buy, clearly say no, or are genuinely unqualified.

8. KNOW YOUR MONEY-MAKING MODEL

Track your funnel every week:

Traffic → Leads → Conversations → Opportunities → Sales

Then calculate:

Cost Per Lead

Conversion Rate

CAC — Customer Acquisition Cost

Average Customer Value

If you don’t know these numbers, you are flying blind.

And businesses flying blind eventually hit something.

9. IMPROVE ONE NUMBER AT A TIME

You don't necessarily need 10X more advertising.

Improve the machine:

More website visitors become leads.

More leads answer the phone.

More conversations become opportunities.

More opportunities become customers.

More customers spend more.

Small improvements multiplied through the funnel can create massive growth.

THE BIG LESSON

Business growth isn’t magic.

It’s a system.

Generate leads.

Respond fast.

Build trust.

Sell value.

Follow up relentlessly.

Use social proof.

Track the numbers.

TDI — Tiny Daily Improvements.

And above everything:

LIFE REWARDS ACTION.

You can spend years trying to figure everything out yourself.

Or learn the skills, apply them immediately, measure the result and improve again tomorrow.

New skills compound for life.
